The sticking point is realizing that many on the left are borrowing terms from 1940’s Europe when referring to Von Brunn's ideology. That terminology is born from an era when Nazis were one pole, and communists were the other. In the USA, however, our reference point is the Constitution and Individual rights. From THAT perspective, both communism and fascism are forms of statism = collectivism = in *USA* terms, leftwing (but not in European terms). So yes, there is no doubt that Von Brunn is left wing.
